Royal Caribbean has some great deals right now for last minute cruises. If you are able to get time off quickly you might want to look into taking a cruise. Currently my husband and I booked a short 3 day cruise for under $200 ( taxes excluded) Best day of the week to book a cruise is Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I noticed they have lower prices on those days for the same cruise. Do not book over the weekend because that is when prices are higher.
Looking for an all inclusive vacation with airfare and hotel? Best place to search is Groupon. They have several amazing travel deals that can save you a lot of money instead of you booking everything separately. Most deals fly out of New York but you can pay a supplement to fly out of your local city. My advice if you need to fly out of a different city is be flexible and extend the trip if you need to. For example, we booked a trip on Groupon, the deal had us flying out on Monday from New York but we live in Florida. We decided to start our vacation earlier, leaving the Saturday before and had to only pay $90 supplement fee. Compared to if we flew out of Miami that same Monday would have been $310 each. Being flexible allows you to save some money and in the long run have a longer vacation.

If cruising or flying is not your cup of tea, road trips are a great way to travel as well. We have done short road trips to Orlando, Key west, Naples and Tampa. My favorite site to book hotels is Booking.com. I love their site because you can cancel your reservation if plans change or in my case if I see a better deal for a different hotel. If you book frequently with them you can even get up to 10% off your room. Signing up is easy and they even have an app you can download to your smartphone. In addition to the site being amazing, they even give you virtual travel guide of things to do in the city you booked your hotel in. It is great tool if its somewhere you have never visited.
