HI my traveling anchors!!! Sorry I have been MIA, but Life has been a bit crazy! With the elections, Holidays around the corner and every day tasks… I have honestly just been to tired to even think. Well I am back with the perfect bounce back and get rid of any blahness ( I think I just made that word up..lol) you have in your system…my detox water recipe!
This is something I drink when I just feel bloated, sluggish or just dehydrated. I typically do this once or twice a month but feel free to drink this as much as you like. I was given this recipe from an old workout friend of mine a few years back and I love it because it makes you feel good, cleans you out and I have lost 1-2 lbs when I do it. I try to drink the entire gallon in one day and I drink it either on my day off or when I work the later shift at work, so I can drink most of it while I am home.
I warn you it does make you go number 1 a lot but its cleaning you out, nothing you cannot handle. You will probably go to the bathroom about 15-20x a day , at-least that is what happens to me. The next day I feel so light because I have lost water weight. It is also a great PMS drink or if you need to fit into an outfit before an event. I also do this drink right after I return from a cruise.
So lets get to it… here is what you need.
1 gallon of water ( I prefer distilled because it does not have any minerals or salt)
1 cucumber
1 lemon
1 pack of mint leaves
1 small piece of ginger ( less than an inch)
Directions:
If you purchased a brand new gallon of water, please drink a bit out so it does not overflow when you put all the ingredients inside the gallon of water. I tend to pour some in a glass about 1/4 of it, and then pour some back in after I put all my ingredients inside. Slice the cucumber, slice the lemon and ginger. I put all my slices inside the gallon of water. I put whole mint leaves on the stem inside as well, and then take off some leaves of the stem and put loose leaves in the water. I do this for preference because I love getting mint leaves in my drink when I pour it.
After you have all the ingredients in your gallon, top off your gallon with that water you poured out at the beginning. Leave gallon in the refrigerator overnight for about 6-7 hours. Then its ready for you to drink it. Do not leave water in fridge over 48 hours because it will get a very bitter taste and it will be gross.
