HI my hopeless romantics,
My first “official” blog post! lol… as I sit here thinking what should I write about, how should I greet everyone, who’s going to read this..and another million thoughts I am sure every blogger thinks about when they first started, I decided the best thing to do is be ME ! It will always be consistent and never change, because me is who I am!
So here it is…. Official blog 1. About my wedding planning… I will be doing multiple post about my wedding planning, So this is not one very long post because I talk a lot and can also type a lot…lol
Wedding planning is a very stressful part of anyones life because it’s normal to want everything to be perfect. Reality..life’s not perfect! My first and best advice I can give anyone planning a wedding is make it fun and make it YOU! ( you = the bride) My wedding was on a cruise ship..Carnival Ecstasy sailing out to Miami on January 1, 2016. It was a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. Overall summary of the day was we got married at 1pm on January 1, 2016 as the cruise ship was still at the Port of Miami. We had our rehearsal while waiting to board the ship…lol. Before some brides panic on me thinking OMG rehearsal the same day? RELAX! I had 3 wedding planners which were amazing and made everything flawless. Our overall wedding lasted about 3 hours or less but it was perfect for us. Our ceremony was about 30 minutes…quick and to the point. We loved how fast it was and so did our guests. The only thing that delayed our ceremony was me being late due to getting ready and my husband had an emotional moment on stage ( video will be posted soon.) After our ceremony we walked from the theater on the ship to the night club for our reception. We paid extra to have the reception in the night club so we can have a DJ. Our total reception time we paid for was 1 hour and 30 minutes, which was perfect because most people after 2 hours total want to go home and relax. After our reception the guests that were not sailing with us had time to explore the ship and get off by 3 pm. The remaining guests sailing with us were able to go to their stateroom and change, nap or do as they pleased. However the Bride and Groom had to go around taking their wedding photos. This was fun but also bad planning because I was all sweaty from dancing for the past hour and if you have a great makeup artist you should be fine as I was. In addition both my husband and I were a bit tipsy as we took our wedding photos. lol but they came out great!
Overall we were really happy with the service, pictures and logistics of our wedding. Some family members were hesitant when we mentioned we were getting married on a cruise and after the wedding they were saying “OMG that was amazing” or I was so impressed , it was a real wedding lol. Carnival cruise lines provided a great experience and I might be the few to say this but Our wedding was PERFECT! If we could do it again , WE would! stay tuned for part 2 of how we decided to have a cruise ship as our venue.
